On November 10, 2016 it was opening night for the exhibition "Q ['kju:] Deformation von Raum und Zeit" at the NORD/LB gallery. About 200 invited guests attended.
Introductory words were given by Eckhart Liss of Kunst und Begegnung Hermannshof e.V., Prof. Jakob Flury, speaker of the SFB 1128 and Prof. Wilfried Köpke, journalist for culture.
A special treat: the premiere of the composition "Wellen" by Thorsten Encke, a piece for three clarinets, inspired by the idea of "falling out of time".
There was plenty to explore: an artist's version of an entire lab, a pendulum letting the visitor determine gravity, the walk-through installation "Raumblase" (space bubble), an interferometer showing us how gravitational waves can be measured, and more.
In addition an installation by Susanne Bayer explored the passing of time at the busy Kröpcke/Niki-de-Saint-Phalle-Promenade, where passersby could see themselves time-delayed on a screen.
The well-received exhibition was open from Nov. 10 to Nov. 24, 2016.
